1. Wax Model for Casting: The initial step for casting any jewelry piece is to prepare a wax model to carve your design within it. These wax models will showcase how the design will look like in your finished pieces. These models are attached to a wax stem by sprues that create channels through which the molten metal get driven off. Sometimes multiple wax models are attached to the same stem so as to create multiple castings. Which type of metal are you desiring for? Platinum or Gold? 2. Proper Investment: Next step includes the investment material. The moment the wax model is set on the stem, the structure is placed in a flask and an investment material is poured around it. Once the material is set, it turns into a mold in which the metal gold or platinum is poured into. This is quite a tough step but is the most important one. 

3. Burnout: The following step to bring out custom-made jewelry is burnout. Now, what is that? In this process, the original wax model is burned out in a special kiln as soon as the investment material sets on the mold. As soon as all the wax is melted and burned away, there remains a cavity in the investment material – this actually serves as the final mold.  

4. Melting: The above one is followed by the melting of metal at high temperature. Now, this temperature completely depends on the type of metals you are using. For example, Platinum 900 Iridium melts at 3250 degrees Fahrenheit, Platinum 950 Iridium at 3236 degrees Fahrenheit, Platinum 950 Ruthenium melt at 3245 degrees Fahrenheit, Platinum 950 Cobalt at 3182 degrees Fahrenheit and so on. The same is the with the Gold. The melting point of gold is 1943 degrees Fahrenheit. As soon as the alloy is melted at their respective melting points, the molten alloy is poured into the mold that is made in the previous step.  

5. Final Casting: The final casting process include the pouring of the liquid metal into the mold. This basically is done by different techniques so as to create high-quality castings that control the flow of metal into the molded structure. Techniques include centrifugal casting, vacuum-assisted casting, and pressure casting. All these methods or techniques ensure the liquid metal will be spread evenly throughout the entire mold, instead of creating lumps.

6. Divesting: Finally, once the aforesaid works are done in order, it is time to remove the casting and bring out the jewelry piece. This takes a bit of time. You can't peel it off immediately the molten metal is poured. Once it is cooled and set, the casting is divested from the investment material either by physical or by using some chemical compounds. Remember the sprue? Those sprues are now cut off from each piece and the finished product is cleaned and polished to deliver to the customer. The sprues used for the casting purpose are recycled again for future castings.
